Academic Work

I study information organization, music technology, and cultural digitization. My academic research began at the University of Missouri–Kansas City, where I worked as an undergraduate research assistant digitizing a 1902 illuminated manuscript at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, translating it from French, and co-authoring peer-reviewed work on medieval manuscript studies.

This section collects my academic and research writing: peer-reviewed publications on music information retrieval and medieval studies, a graduate seminar paper on Bandcamp’s user experience, and undergraduate research proposals that shaped how I think about archives and access. Work that has a publisher stays with the publisher — those pages summarize the argument and link out. Unpublished work is reproduced here in full.
